Iceland, Written by the Elements

Custom-crafted itineraries.
Designed around you, never around a template.
Jökull means glacier, but ice is only one of the forces that has written Iceland. Water cuts through volcanic land, geothermal heat rises from below, the North Atlantic presses against its shores, and, after dark, the sky can become part of the spectacle. Few countries let earth, ocean, ice, and light occupy the same journey so completely.
Across seven days, Reykjavik remains the base while Iceland changes around it. The Golden Circle introduces a landscape still visibly in motion; the South Coast leads towards the Glacier Lagoon; whales take the journey out to sea before the Northern Lights turn attention overhead. Snæfellsnes gathers many faces of Iceland into one peninsula, and the Blue Lagoon brings the final day back to geothermal warmth.
Jökull: Iceland, Written by the Elements is Duniya Safari’s journey through a country where land, water, and sky are never merely scenery, but part of the experience itself, with each day revealing another side of Iceland’s restless natural character.
What's included
A carefully crafted journey, one unforgettable day at a time.
Arrive at Keflavik International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Iceland begins quietly here, in a compact capital set between the North Atlantic and a landscape that quickly becomes wilder beyond the city limits. Colourful roofs, clean northern light, and the sea establish the setting before the country's larger forces take over.
Use the remaining hours around the harbour or the central streets, keeping the first evening easy after the flight. Upphaf means beginning, and Reykjavik works beautifully as one: human in scale, yet never far from the water, weather and volcanic land that will define the days ahead.
Set out on the Golden Circle, where Iceland’s geology moves from background to protagonist. Geothermal landscapes, powerful water and terrain shaped by immense natural forces give the day its sense of movement, as though the country is still deciding what form it wants to take.
Return to Reykjavik with a first glimpse of Iceland beyond the capital. Kraftur belongs naturally to a day of movement and raw energy, but the word hardly needs explaining once you have seen the terrain for yourself.
Travel along Iceland’s South Coast towards Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, watching the landscape move through volcanic shores, open plains and increasingly glacial terrain. Continue to Diamond Beach, where icebergs washed ashore create a striking contrast against the black volcanic sand. At Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, take to the water on the Glacier Lagoon boat ride, moving among ice that has broken away from the glacier and drifted into the lake.
It is a long day, but one that earns its scale. Dark volcanic sand and luminous ice create one of Iceland’s sharpest contrasts, with the South Coast gradually surrendering its darker tones to the lagoon's cold blue. By the time you return to Reykjavik, the country feels almost entirely different from the one you left that morning.
Head out onto the North Atlantic for a whale-watching yacht cruise, leaving Reykjavik’s shoreline behind in search of the marine life that inhabits these northern waters. The scale changes again: Iceland is no longer beneath your feet, but stretched along the horizon while the sea becomes the day’s great open space.
After dark, turn in the opposite direction during the Northern Lights chase, with hot chocolate along the way as you leave city brightness behind in search of the aurora. A day that began by looking into the North Atlantic ends with everyone looking upwards, the horizon exchanged for the Icelandic night sky.
Spend the day exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where coast, volcanic terrain, mountain scenery and small settlements appear in remarkably close succession. The peninsula gathers many of Iceland’s visual signatures into one compact region, including the distinctive Kirkjufell Mountain, shifting character repeatedly without ever leaving the country's western edge.
Return to Reykjavik after a day that feels much larger than the distance travelled. Snæfellsnes seems to gather coast, mountain, volcanic ground and small settlements into a world of its own, changing character repeatedly before the road eventually turns back towards the capital.
After days spent around wind, ice, ocean and volcanic terrain, slow the pace at the Blue Lagoon. Settle into the geothermal waters and let the day unfold at an unhurried pace, with the surrounding lava fields keeping the setting unmistakably Icelandic. Steam rises from the mineral-rich water while the surrounding lava fields keep the setting unmistakably Icelandic.
There is something satisfying about ending here. The heat that has shaped so much of Iceland from beneath the surface becomes something you can finally step into, replacing observation with immersion on the last full day.
Transfer from your Reykjavik hotel to Keflavik International Airport for the journey home. Seven days have moved from geothermal landscapes and dark volcanic shores to glacier ice, open ocean, northern skies and the warmth rising beneath Iceland’s surface.
Jökull: Iceland, Written by the Elements ends here with Duniya Safari. Heimleið is the road home, although Iceland has a habit of sending something back with you: a waterfall remembered in motion, a fragment of blue ice, or a sky that looked impossible until you actually saw it.
