Spain

Custom-crafted itineraries.
Designed around you, never around a template.
From the Mediterranean to the high plains of Castile, Spain carries the sea with it only so far. Salt air and bright coastal light define the eastern edge; Ibiza brings the freedom of island life; Andalucía arrives in courtyards and whitewashed towns; and the journey ends among the broader avenues and royal scale of the centre.
Across twelve days, Barcelona begins with Gaudí and the Mediterranean before Ibiza slips into Balearic blue. Valencia adds a more contemporary face to the coast, while Seville brings the warmth and character of the south, with Ronda and the pueblos blancos extending the journey beyond the city. In Madrid, Castile takes over, with Toledo and Segovia carrying the final days into cathedrals, old fortifications and the legacy of earlier kingdoms.
Del Mar a Castilla: Spain is Duniya Safari's journey from sea to heartland, following how geography reshapes the country as the route moves from coast to island, south, and interior.
What's included
A carefully crafted journey, one unforgettable day at a time.
Arrive in Barcelona, where your airport transfer brings you into a city shaped by the Mediterranean. Broad avenues, tiled façades and flashes of blue between buildings give the first day a distinctly coastal rhythm, with the city opening naturally towards the sea.
The first evening stays easy: a walk through the Gothic Quarter, dinner around El Born, or time near the waterfront as the light changes over the harbour. Barcelona begins with colour, movement and the unmistakable presence of the mar.
Explore Barcelona's major sights before entering the Sagrada Família, where Gaudí’s imagination rises through sculpted façades, soaring columns, and coloured light. Across the city, modernist details surface unexpectedly between broad avenues, apartment balconies and older neighbourhoods.
Later, continue towards Gràcia or return to the old centre for dinner. Café terraces fill, shutters open above narrow streets, and the architecture remains present without dominating every moment.
Check out of your Barcelona hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Ibiza. On arrival, transfer to the hotel as the city scale falls away and the Mediterranean stretches wider around you, framed by marina views, whitewashed buildings and open horizons.
Spend the remaining hours around Ibiza Town or near the waterfront. The island settles easily into the evening, with café tables, boats in the harbour and Balearic blue never far from view.
Spend the day on the water on a coastal cruise around Ibiza, with stops along the shoreline and time to enjoy paddleboards, food, and drinks. Cliffs, coves, and clear Mediterranean water open up around the boat as you see the island from its best-known angle.
Back on land, the evening can unfold around the marina or the lanes of Ibiza Town. Salt remains in the air, boats return to harbour, and the light softens slowly over the coast.
Check out of your Ibiza hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Valencia. After the airport transfer, settle into a city of broad boulevards, historic quarters and bold contemporary architecture, still carrying the brightness of Spain’s eastern coast.
Spend the evening around the old centre, walk through the gardens of the former Turia riverbed or stop for dinner in one of the city’s lively plazas. Valencia feels open and spacious, with centuries-old streets only a short distance from its most futuristic silhouettes.
Explore Valencia at your pace before visiting Oceanogràfic. Around it, sweeping white forms, water and glass create one of Spain’s most distinctive contemporary settings, giving the day a completely different visual language from Barcelona or Ibiza.
Later, head back to the historic centre for dinner, or spend more time in the Turia Gardens. As daylight fades, the newer structures catch the last of the luz while the older city settles into its evening pace.
Check out of your Valencia hotel and board the train to Seville. On arrival in Andalucía, warmer light, tiled courtyards, orange trees and narrow streets give the south an identity that feels immediate.
Spend the evening around Santa Cruz, Plaza de España or beside the Guadalquivir. As the heat softens, terraces fill, and Seville’s lanes become particularly inviting for an unhurried walk before dinner.
Visit the Real Alcázar, Seville Cathedral and the Giralda, including the Church of El Salvador. Palace courtyards, intricate ornament, vast cathedral interiors and the famous bell tower bring Moorish and Christian influences into close proximity within Seville’s historic centre.
Afterwards, stay among the shaded lanes and tiled façades around Santa Cruz or find a table for a long Andalusian evening. Even beyond the major monuments, balconies, patios and glimpses through open doorways keep the city visually rich.
Leave Seville for a full-day journey through the White Villages and Ronda. Whitewashed towns appear across the Andalusian hills before Ronda rises above the deep gorge that divides its historic centre, one of the most dramatic settings on the route.
Between villages, the scenery opens into rolling countryside, olive groves and smaller settlements tucked into the hills. Return to Seville in the evening after a day spent well beyond Andalucía’s larger cities.
Check out of your Seville hotel and board the train to Madrid. After arrival, visit the Royal Palace of Madrid, where ceremonial rooms, grand interiors and royal collections introduce the capital on an appropriately impressive scale.
Later, step into Madrid’s plazas and neighbourhood streets for a more relaxed evening. Café tables fill around the centre, broad avenues carry on well after dusk, and the higher, drier air feels noticeably removed from the Mediterranean coast.
Travel from Madrid to Toledo and Segovia for a day among old Castilian cities, cathedral towers and fortified skylines. Toledo rises above the Tagus, with Christian, Jewish, and Islamic influences threaded through its old quarter, while Segovia brings royal history, the Alcázar, and a very different sense of scale. Pause for lunch along the way before continuing through the two cities.
Narrow streets, cathedral spires and fortified heights give the final sightseeing day a distinctly Castilian character. By evening, Madrid feels close again, but the salt air and island horizons of the opening days belong to another part of Spain entirely.
Check out of your Madrid hotel and transfer to the airport for the journey home. Twelve days have passed through Mediterranean shores, Balearic waters, Valencia’s modern lines, Andalusian courtyards, white villages and the high interior around Madrid.
Del Mar a Castilla: Spain ends here with Duniya Safari, far inland from where the journey began, with Spain's contrasts now gathered into one long route from mar to Castilla.
