Paris & Switzerland

Custom-crafted itineraries.
Designed around you, never around a template.
Dear Europe,
You look exactly as we imagined. France sends boulevards, the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, museum halls and a little Disney magic; Switzerland replies with blue lakes, snowy peaks, panoramic trains, old bridges and mountains that seem almost designed to be sent home. Some views are grand, some playful, and almost all of them feel strangely familiar.
We begin in Paris, where the first lines are written beneath an unmistakable skyline. Then comes Interlaken, a greeting from the Alps, followed by Lucerne, where the message continues through train windows, lake water and snow. Zurich adds one last Swiss note with Rhine Falls and chocolate before it is finally time to send the card home.
The Classic European Postcard: Paris & Switzerland is Duniya Safari’s journey through the Europe we picture first, now filled with places we have finally seen for ourselves.
With love,
Until next time.
What's included
The experiences that make this journey special
A carefully crafted journey, one unforgettable day at a time.
Arrive in Paris and settle into the city where this journey begins. Boulevards stretch past pale façades, café tables spill towards the pavement, and the Seine slips through a skyline already filled with familiar shapes. Plenty awaits over the next two days, but the opening line can stay simple: we made it to Paris.
The first evening stays unscripted: a walk beside the Seine, coffee at a café table and the first beckoning of Parisian life.
This is Paris in the grand frame. Explore the capital along its famous avenues and landmarks, spend time inside the Louvre Museum, take a cruise on the Seine River, and rise to the summit of the Eiffel Tower. Art, architecture, the river, and the skyline all find their place in a day filled with the images that make Paris one of Europe’s most recognisable cities.
Stay beside the Seine as the city lights come on, cross into the Latin Quarter, or find dinner somewhere that looks inviting. After the Louvre, the river and the Eiffel Tower, even an ordinary Parisian evening can feel unusually well composed.
Spend the day at Disneyland Paris, where themed worlds, attractions and familiar stories replace museum halls and boulevards for a few hours. After yesterday’s monumental Paris, the change is deliberately playful, giving the journey one full day where fantasy is allowed to take over.
The day closes with the final fireworks at Disneyland Paris, the illuminated castle holding onto that last little bit of magic before the journey back to Paris.
Leave Paris by train and travel to Switzerland, changing at Lausanne before continuing to Interlaken, where your Swiss Travel Pass begins. After the dense visual language of Paris, the frame suddenly widens into lakes, valleys and mountains. Explore Interlaken before taking a cruise on Lake Brienz or Lake Thun, with Alpine slopes rising beyond the water.
Walk around Höhematte or settle somewhere with the peaks still in view. Interlaken has a way of making even a quiet evening feel wonderfully open.
Travel towards Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe, using your Swiss Travel Pass for the applicable portions of the journey. Railways climb from the Interlaken region into high Alpine terrain until green valleys give way to snowfields, glaciers and mountain ridges stretching across the horizon.
Back in Interlaken, the valley feels almost impossibly gentle after the scale above. A slow walk, a warm meal, and the mountains still visible in the distance are more than enough for the evening.
Board the Luzern–Interlaken Panoramic Express for a scenic journey to Lucerne, with lakes, villages, and mountain slopes passing by the windows before the next city comes into view. On arrival, discover Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument, then take a Lake Lucerne cruise, bringing railway scenery, old-town character and water together in one day.
Later, wander through Lucerne’s painted old streets or stay beside the lake as the mountains darken beyond the water. The city feels remarkably complete at walking pace, with just enough grandeur and just enough intimacy.
Set out for Mount Titlis, using your Swiss Travel Pass for the applicable journey into the mountains. As the altitude rises, Lucerne’s lake and streets give way to snow and high ridges before the Ice Flyer carries you across the glacier landscape.
Return to Lucerne later, where the lakefront and old streets feel especially calm after the mountains' brightness. Snow and city sit surprisingly close together here, giving the day two very different versions of Switzerland.
Travel by train from Lucerne to Zurich, then continue to Rhine Falls, where the Rhine gathers force and breaks dramatically over the falls. Later, visit the Lindt Home of Chocolate, letting the final sightseeing day shift from raw natural spectacle to a considerably sweeter side of Switzerland.
Spend the last evening in Zurich’s Old Town, along the Limmat, or by the lakefront. After the thunder of Rhine Falls and the sweetness of Lindt Home of Chocolate, the city’s quieter streets and waterfront make a gentle ending to the day.
Use your Swiss Travel Pass for the final journey to Zurich Airport and begin the journey home. Nine days have carried you from Parisian boulevards and museum halls to Alpine lakes, panoramic trains, glaciers, old bridges, waterfalls and snow.
The Classic European Postcard: Paris & Switzerland ends here with Duniya Safari. What began with “Dear Europe” moved through the places seen, meals shared, photographs taken and a few views that will probably stay long after the journey itself.
With love,
Until next time.

These are a few of our favourite additions if you’d like to make this itinerary longer
You can extend this journey in either direction without disrupting its natural flow. Amsterdam works best before Paris, adding canals, Dutch art and a softer northern beginning to the itinerary. After Zurich, Milan, Salzburg, Vienna or Munich can each take the journey into a different part of Europe, whether the preference is Italy, the Austrian Alps, imperial culture or Bavaria. Duniya Safari can build the extension around the traveller’s interests, available nights and preferred pace, keeping the rail connections and sightseeing seamless with the main itinerary.
Amsterdam works beautifully as a prelude before Paris, adding a softer northern beginning to the journey. Spend time around the canal belt, Dam Square, and Jordaan; visit the Van Gogh Museum; and take an evening canal cruise as the bridges light up. A day trip towards Zaanse Schans or the fishing villages can add a completely different Dutch note before the journey continues south to Paris.
After Zurich, Milan is the easiest way to extend the itinerary into Italy. The Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the historic centre give the city its immediate visual impact, while a day trip to Lake Como can add one more great European landscape before heading home. Milan also works particularly well for travellers who want to turn this Paris and Switzerland journey into a broader France-Switzerland-Italy route.
Salzburg changes the mood again, bringing baroque streets, Alpine scenery and a strong musical identity. Explore the Old Town, Mirabell Gardens, Mozart’s Birthplace and Salzburg Cathedral before heading up to Hohensalzburg Fortress. Use an additional day for either the Sound of Music countryside or Hallstatt, depending on whether the traveller prefers cinematic nostalgia or lakes and mountain scenery.
Vienna makes the extension feel grander and more imperial. Schönbrunn Palace, St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Ringstrasse, and the historic centre can easily fill the first day, while the second can take you through cafés, museums, and one of the city’s classical concert experiences. It is a particularly good choice for travellers who want to end the journey with culture, architecture and a slower city rhythm after Switzerland.
Munich offers a different finish, combining a handsome old centre with easy access to Bavaria. Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, Viktualienmarkt and the English Garden work well within the city, while an extra day can be used for Neuschwanstein Castle and the Bavarian countryside. It suits travellers who want to retain the Alpine character of the journey while adding a more distinctly German chapter.
For the smoothest extension, add Amsterdam for 2 or 3 nights before Paris. After Zurich, Milan works well for 2 nights, while Salzburg, Vienna or Munich are best with 2 to 3 nights each depending on the experiences chosen. Duniya Safari can customise the rail sectors, hotels and sightseeing so the extension feels like a natural continuation of the main journey rather than an add-on.
